It's OK to be a little bit controversial in your topic choices but remember, controversy will build controversy!In a recent research project, I taught two Computer Engineering Essay Topics About Technology and Computers. One was about the role of the computer in the society and the other was about how technology impacts society. Both were excellent but I believe one went into a little more depth on the societal aspects than the other.The first one I used the history of technological innovation. I didn't always agree with the historical perspective but it was well researched and I found many interesting facts. The other was more general and I think both of them have a lot of merit. Let's take a look at both.The topic on how technology has impacted society has some interesting facts. For example, how did it impact our culture as a whole? The computer has obviou sly created plenty of jobs in IT. Some people have seen this as bad because we don't need the same type of work force now that we did a few decades ago. I disagree but that's for another day.The second topic I used in my two essay topics was about how technology has influenced society and what can we learn from this. It's interesting that as the technology becomes more complicated, society often doesn't follow. For example, once cell phones and GPS systems became common, many of us got used to them and we started to believe they were a part of our everyday lives.The other essay topics I used were both broader and more abstract. One was on how technology can affect individuals (how technology can change someone's life) and one was on how technology can be an obstacle to people's lives (how technology can be used against people).These two topics are where I realized that as a writer, my job is to write essays on essay topics about technology and computers. That wasn't so hard when you 're just trying to add some content to your professor's syllabus. If you're trying to create a chapter on how technology affects society and the other is a topic about how technology is an obstacle to a person's life, there isn't much of a choice but to be broad and abstract in your topics.However, there is a lot of leeway in the topics you choose so make sure you pick topics that are good, whether they're general or abstract. Always add some substance to your topics to make them interesting and I hope you'll take this lesson!
